Angela Medlin, originally from the east coast of USA, relocated to the west coast to cultivate her career as an apparel designer and to create artwork that would be influenced by world travel and colorful life experiences.
As an apparel designer, Angela has created products for some of the most notable activewear and sportswear companies in the world. These companies include Cross Colours, Adidas, Levi Strauss & Co., and The North Face. She has traveled the globe in search of inspiration to design clothing that has been worn and promoted by professional athletes, music & film celebrities, and mainstream apparel consumers. Her achievements and products have been featured in national publications such as GQ, People, Men’s Fitness, WWD, Black Enterprise, Esteem, and Honey magazine to name a few.
In addition to her apparel career, Angela is an evolving artist (painter). While always experimenting with different styles and techniques in each series, the content of her artwork is consistently expressionistic, intimate, boldly figurative, visually, and emotionally textured. She is influenced by multi-cultural experiences and personal reflection. Angela’s most important and most enjoyable part of creating the artwork is “the process”- the creative moments that reveal a personal lesson learned and a dream realized.
"I find balance in the dichotomy of art and design. Together they compliment each other, challenge, inspire, and shape my creative consciousness." A.M.
